Can I just say how much I LOVE that my kids’ school PTA’s primary fundraiser is a 5K RUN?
So fabulous on so many levels. It’s an awesome way to involve entire families and the community; to encourage fitness; and of course, to support the school.
My sister, my daughter and I did the race together two years ago. I wrote about our adventure in the post, 3 Lessons Learned From Running a 5K with My 9-Year-Old.
Yup, there’s always a lesson when kids are involved. Ahem.
This year the 4th Annual Holcomb Bridge Hustle 5K will take place on November 15, 2014. It starts and ends at Centennial High School in Roswell. Runners, walkers and assisted athletes of all ages and levels are invited to participate. The race is also partnering with the Kyle Pease Foundation again for the third year. The purpose of the Kyle Pease Foundation is to create awareness and raise funds to promote success for persons with disabilities by providing assistance to meet their individual needs through sports. They help make it possible for those who need assistance to participate in the race. Simply awesome.
If you live in the Metro Atlanta area or will be in town that weekend come on out and run!
The entry fee for adults 18+ is $30; and the student fee is $20. It includes a t-shirt, goody bag, post-race refreshments and electronic timing chips. They’ll also have a DJ, sponsor tables and an awards ceremony for top racers in various categories.
